Amazon Prime Video is adapting Rachel Smythe's Webtoon webcomic “Lore Olympus” into an anime series.

Julia Cooperman (“Colony,” “Willow,” “The Winchesters”) will serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer of the adaptation, with Webtoon Productions and The Jim Henson Company producing along with Amazon MGM Studios.

David Madden and Sydney Bright of Webtoon Productions will also executive produce the series along with Aron Levitz.

Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford will executive produce for The Jim Henson Company, with Henson’s Delaney Shiokari serving as executive in charge of production.

The official logline for “Lore Olympus” states, “Witness what the gods do…after dark. The friendships and the lies, the gossip and the wild parties, and of course, forbidden love. Because it turns out, the gods aren’t so different from us after all, especially when it comes to their problems. Stylish and immersive, this is one of mythology’s greatest stories — The Taking of Persephone — as it has never been told before.”

The animated adaptation of “Lore Olympus” has been in the works since 2019.

Per Webtoon, the webcomic has racked up more than 1.8 billion global views since it first debuted in 2017.

It will join Amazon’s current lineup of adult animated shows that includes “The Legend of Vox Machina,” “Invincible,” and “Hazbin Hotel,” all of which are also adaptations.
