The trailer for Disney/Pixar sci-fi action movie "Lightyear", has been unveiled.
The movie sees the beloved toy astronaut Buzz Lightyear, from the "Toy Story" franchise as the central protagonist.
The footage showed Buzz (voiced by Chris Evans) is gearing up to fight alien plants, giant insects, robots, and all you’d expect to see in major sci-fi blockbusters.
The trailer also featured Buzz’s personal companion and A.I. kitty Sox (voiced by Peter Sohn).
The movie is directed by Angus MacLane and written by Pete Docter.
The voice cast also includes Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, Taika Waititi, Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. MacLane.
The movie, first announced back in 2020, will serve as the first spin-off and prequel in the franchise.
The Toy Story franchise consists of four movies: "Toy Story" (1995), "Toy Story 2" (1999), "Toy Story 3" (2010), and "Toy Story 4" (2019).
"Lightyear" premieres in theaters on June 17.
