On Friday, Saleh held a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union countries to Malta, with the coordination and presence of the Maltese Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Evarest Bartolo, at the headquarters of the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Media Office of the Libyan Parliament indicated that during the meeting, the file of reinvestment was discussed, with a main focus on the importance of security and stability in Libya.

On the other hand, the Libyan Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) is preparing, next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, to hold the fifth round of talks, for the first time in Libya in the city of Ghadames.

The Committee will discuss mechanisms for implementing the permanent ceasefire agreement, including the formation of sub-committees, and mechanisms for monitoring and verifying the implementation of the ceasefire.

This round of talks comes after the permanent ceasefire agreement was signed between the two delegations of the Military Committee at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in the presence of the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams on October 23.

This agreement came as a result of the continuous efforts led by the Egyptian state to reduce tension inside the Libyan territories and achieve peace and security for the Libyan people.

Libya has suffered a severe pision between two factions; the Libyan Parliament and the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar in the east; and the GNA led by Fayez al-Sarraj. The latter is internationally recognized but is not accepted by the Parliament.
