Aref Nayed, Chairman of Ihya Libya (Reviving Libya), issued a statement on Saturday regarding the judicial order made in Case No. 20-cv-298 (CKK) in Colombia, the United States.

“On 25 July 2020, the United States District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, ordered that Plaintiffs’ claims against Defendant Nayed are DISMISSED with prejudice”, the statement read.

The judicial order was based on the “voluntary dismissal with prejudice” by the Plaintiffs’ Counsel of all their claims, as per Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1).

In this regard, Dr. Nayed thanked the office and legal team of Counsel David Baron for the defense strategy and submissions, which led the Plaintiffs’ Counsel to dismiss all claims against him.

Moreover, he requested his legal team to continue pursuing cases in United States Courts and to take all legal steps necessary against all defamation and attempts to tarnish.

“Such attempts are continuously being made by the Muslim Brotherhood lobby in the United States and beyond, through their associations and associates, via their TV channels, social media platforms, electronic armies and trolls, in Turkey and other operational centers of their transnational organization,” Nayed added.

As for the Libyan domestic situation, the former ambassador of Libya to the United Arab Emirates reiterated, on many occasions, that the Turkish army has many moves in the region, from Somalia to Qatar, Syria, Iraq, and Libya describing these moves are a new (Ottoman) view revived and framed by political theorists in the late nineties of the last century.

In an interview with Egyptian local media a few days ago, Nayed said that the Cairo Initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis was based on a domestic societal dialogue, and on previous talks that took place with the concerned parties over the years.

He also stressed that the Turkish interference is serious and deemed as serious attempts to penetrate the Arab security system, adding that Ankara seeks to establish strong Turkish military sea, land and air permanent bases.
