Libyan Presidential Council Welcomes UN Security Council to Hold Election Next December

The Libyan Presidential Council (LPC) has welcomed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution to support the LPC and the government of national unity.

The UN Security Council recognizes   the Libyan institutions as the authorities authorized to lead the country until elections on December 21.

The UNSC stressed the necessity of respecting and implementing ceasefire in Libya and withdrawing all foreign forces and mercenaries from the country.

 

Also the UNSC affirmed its full support to the Joint Military Commission and any other mechanism decided by the Libyans to monitor ceasefire over the period to come.

The Libyan Presidential Council urges legislative authorities to take all steps to sustain the National Unity Government ahead of the next elections.

The LPC also calls for allotting unifies budget to fund elections.

It assures that all political factions should   reach an agreement to distribute sovereign posts according to the road map resulted from political consultations.

The LPC asks the government to do utmost best to improve performance of the national economy and easing hardships of citizenry.

On the other hand, Mohamed Al-Mennafi, Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, declared forming the National Authority for Libyan Reconciliation to launch a real project to bring all Libyans together again.

A member of LPC said last Monday that the project of reconciliation based on restoring stability to Libya.

He indicated that this project will be implemented independently and it won't subjugate to any authority or a political entity so the project is a free national work.

He added that the project of reconciliation comprises national figures with social and political importance.

Participants in reconciliation enjoy confidence of all parties in Libya as they are able to present a ripe outcome.

The member of the LPC affirmed that no one will be out of  the reconciliation because it aims at restoring confidence among the Libyans and terminating hatred.
