The Chairman of the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS), Dr. Aref Al Nayed, said that the Cairo Initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis was based on a Libyan societal dialogue, and on previous talks that took place with the Libyan parties over the years.
In an interview with the Egyptian local newspaper, Youm7, Nayed pointed out that many countries announce their clear support for the initiative.
On Turkish interference in Libya, the former ambassador of Libya to the United Arab Emirates made it clear that the Turkish army has many moves in the region, from Somalia to Qatar, Syria, Iraq, and Libya describing these moves are a new (Ottoman) view revived and framed by political theorists in the late nineties of the last century.

He stressed that the Turkish interventions are serious and deemed as serious attempts to penetrate the Arab security system, adding that Ankara seeks to “Establish strong Turkish military sea, land and air permanent bases.”
Turkish Aspiration Vs. Libyan Stability
Hence, Nayed warned the Arab countries against this new Ottoman invasion, stressing that it threatens their independence, unity, and national security.
He called for activating the joint defense agreements that are part of the legal system of the League of Arab States.
“The Arab countries should be aware that the Turkish invasion of Libya is an invasion of all Arab states… If the Arab countries allow Turkey to establish military bases in Libya, this will lead to the overthrow of many regional countries,” said Nayed.
He demanded that independent investigations, trials, and dialogues be held in Libya, such as the (Truth and Reconciliation) sessions in South Africa and in Ronda, noting that the Libyans are equal and all of them have human dignity.
Moreover, Nayed called for the necessity of investigating all mass graves discovered without exception in Misrata, Zawiya, Sirte, Tarhuna, the South and many other cities, adding that all cases of murder, abuse, and torture must be investigated including abuses of non-Libyans by hands of Libyan and foreign militias.
