Liam Payne offered fans a glimpse into One Direction's 10th anniversary, which is taking place in July.

The band started their ascent up the pedestal of stardom after forming and finishing third in the seven-season of the British television singing competition “The X Factor” in 2010.

The band consisted of 5 members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomilson.

They signed with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records, at that time no one knew they would become one of the biggest boy bands ever.

The band earned almost 200 awards including, seven Brit Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, and 28 Teen Choice Awards.

In 2015, Malik departed from the group, which has been on an 18-month hiatus since 2016.

The hiatus gave the band the opportunity to pursue other projects, including Styles who co-starred in Acadamy Award-winning film, Dunkirk.

One Direction's 10th anniversary

Payne confirmed to his fellow collaborator, Alesso, in an Instagram Live session on Sunday that One Direction reunion was in the works, and jokily offered him Zayn Malik's role.

He disclosed that Louis Tomlinson scolded him for revealing to the sun that the band was plotting a project for their milestone in the first place, revealing that most of them are in London.

Payne also gave away that the group is planning to hold their first reunion video call in the coming days.

"We've been trying to arrange the first group FaceTime at the moment. You can come and fill in for Zayn. Join the band." he jokingly said.
