Egypt’s Bus Shipments to UK Account for $5.3 million

The United Kingdom emerged as the largest destination for Egypt’s vehicle exports in March 2026, accounting for nearly half of total shipments, according to foreign trade data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egypt’s exports of various vehicle categories reached approximately $11.2 million during the month, with shipments distributed across several international markets, led by the UK and Saudi Arabia.

The UK ranked first with exports valued at $5.3 million, representing 48.16% of Egypt’s total vehicle exports in March. The shipments consisted of 32 buses.

Saudi Arabia ranked second, importing Egyptian vehicles worth $1.782 million, equivalent to 15.91% of total exports. Shipments included 15 buses and one passenger vehicle for personal use.

The Netherlands came third with exports valued at $2.383 million, capturing around 21.2% of total vehicle exports through shipments of six buses.

Ireland ranked fourth with exports worth $892,100, representing a 7.96% market share, with Egypt exporting seven buses to the country.

Côte d’Ivoire placed fifth with exports totaling $396,800, or 3.54% of total vehicle exports, including two buses.

Other destinations included Hong Kong, with exports of $213,200 through the shipment of one bus; Sudan, with $73,900 in exports consisting of two cargo vehicles; and Libya, with exports valued at $67,800, mainly passenger vehicles.

China ranked last among Egypt’s vehicle export destinations in March, with shipments valued at just $1,001, representing 0.01% of total exports and consisting of one passenger vehicle.

The data highlights the growing role of buses in Egypt’s vehicle exports, with several European and regional markets emerging as key destinations for locally manufactured vehicles.
