Lavrov, Kerry Meet in New Delhi

Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov held talks with U.S. President's Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, John Kerry in New Delhi.

 

They discussed issues related to climate, according to "Sputnik News agency".

 

The Russian FM arrived on Monday evening, in the Indian capital New Delhi on an official visit to participate in a virtual climate summit.

 

U.S. President Joe Biden has invited 40 world leaders to attend a virtual summit on the climate crisis, the White House revealed on Saturday.

 

The summit, scheduled to be held on April 22 and 23, will focus on the economic benefits of preserving the environment.

 

Among the leaders invited for the summit are, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
