Wright directed the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
"Last Night in Soho" stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, Rita Tushingham, Terrence Stamp, and Diana Rigg, who made the movie prior to her death in autumn 2020.
It features Taylor-Joy as Sandy, a creepy showgirl from 1960s London, who a modern-day fashion student Eloise (McKenzie) aspires to be and begins to connect with her ghost and channel her into her work as a designer.
Eloise receives flashbacks into Sandy’s life and discovers about her near-death. She attempts to find a way to stop her death which could be her own should she become trapped in her trip to the past.

Wright came up with the idea for Last Night in Soho in 2007. He recently revealed Quentin Tarantino inspired the title of the movie by introducing the filmmaker to a song of the same name used in “Death Proof”.
He also released his own official playlist of songs to accompany the movie, titled “Edgar Wright’s Solo Nights”.
