Lady Gaga has shared new details about her participation in The Devil Wears Prada 2, where she appears in a special guest role that combines acting, music, and fashion performance within the film’s narrative.
In recently released statements, Gaga confirmed that she worked on three original songs for the film’s soundtrack: Runway, created in collaboration with Doechii, as well as Shape of a Woman and Glamorous Life.
The songs are directly integrated into key scenes, particularly during a major fashion show sequence set in Milan, rather than being used as background music only.
Gaga explained that she began writing music immediately after reading the script, describing the project as creatively inspiring. She also said the collaboration with Doechii on Runway was a highlight of the experience.
The film’s creative team emphasized that Gaga’s appearance goes beyond a simple cameo, as she appears as herself within the world of high fashion.
Director David Frankel noted that her presence was intentionally included to reflect the real-life connection between celebrity culture and the fashion industry, adding authenticity to the film’s setting.
According to production details, Meryl Streep personally invited Gaga to join the project. Streep praised her performance and suggested she would be an ideal figure for future installments in the franchise.
Gaga also expressed her enthusiasm for the role, saying she is drawn to characters and stories that explore internal conflict behind polished public images, especially within the fashion world.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently screening in cinemas in Egypt, where it has already grossed over 4 million EGP.
The film is directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, and features returning stars including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, alongside a large ensemble cast.
