Australian singer-songwriter and actress Kylie Minogue is set to release new music sooner than fans expected after her last year's hit "Padam Padam" relaunched her career.

The pop star, 55, is currently working on her 17th studio album which has been teased to be fill of mega dance tracks. She is also set to drop her No1. record "Tension", which will include new tunes as well.

A source told The Sun: "Kylie has made it clear to her team this is no time to slow down. Plans are already in motion for the next two albums, one of which will be a repackage of Tension with additional songs. As for the direction of album 17 it's early days — but a full-on dance album is in the works."

"The plan is to release the Tension repackage towards the end of the year, with probably up to five new tracks," the insider added.

Last month, Kylie hit the studio in California with chart-topping British DJ Joel Corry, who previously gushed it would 'be an honour' to work with the Australian songstress.

"Kylie absolutely smashed it last year. She has taken over the charts. I've loved the sound of the singles. They sound really fresh and current. She is pop royalty. It would be an honour to work with her," he said.

Sharing a photo of the duo in the studio, Joel teased: "Been in LA writing BANGERS all week!! Lucky to work with some very special people Heading back on tour with fresh fireee to test".

Kylie has been enjoying some downtime from her Las Vegas residency as she landed in Sydney last week. She has a month off from her busy residency schedule before she will return stateside to take to the stage once again on April 26.

Minogue is reportedly set to tour Australia in 2024, although specific dates have not yet been announced.
