Kuwait's General Staff said its air defenses successfully intercepted Iranian missile and drone attacks on Wednesday, adding that explosions heard across the country were caused by interception operations. Authorities urged the public to follow official safety instructions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as a violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, a threat to its security and stability, and a breach of international law and the UN Charter. It stressed that Kuwait's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents are non-negotiable and affirmed the country's right to take all necessary measures to protect its territory.
The Gulf Cooperation Council also renewed its condemnation of the attacks and reiterated its solidarity with Kuwait.
