Krysten Ritter to Guest Star in "Dexter: Resurrection"

Krysten Ritter will make a guest star appearance in “Dexter: Resurrection”.

The “Jessica Jones” and “Love & Death” star is set to play a character named Mia, but other details about the role are unknown.

Production for the “Dexter” sequel series at Showtime started in January in New York and the series is slated to debut on Paramount+ With Showtime in the summer.

Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan in the series, which also stars Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara.

The series also features  Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater. 

“Dexter: Resurrection” is not to related to “Dexter: Original Sin,” a prequel series that follows a young Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to serial killer. That series, which also sees Hall return as Dexter’s inner monologue, debuted in 2024 on Paramount+ With Showtime.

“Resurrection” is one of many offshoots of “Dexter,” a hit serial killer drama that ran on Showtime for eight seasons, from 2006 to 2013. 

A sequel series, “Dexter: New Blood,” aired in 2021, which also saw Hall reprise the role of Dexter.

The series is executive produced by “Dexter” vet Clyde Phillips, who also returns to serve as showrunner. Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios serve as producers. Hall is an EP along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. 

Monica Raymund will direct four episodes, and Siega will direct six episodes for the series, which is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Ritter is best known for leading Marvel’s “Jessica Jones,” and she can also be seen in “Breaking Bad,” “Big Eyes,” “Orphan Black: Echoes,” and more.
