Kristen Stewart to Star in HBO Series "Irma Vep"

American actress Kristen Stewart will star in French filmmaker Olivier Assayas' televisual remake of his 1996 movie "Irma Vep".

According to New Yorker magazine, Stewart has a small role in the series, which is currently being filmed by the A24 production in Paris.

The actress and Assayas previously collaborated in 2014's "Clouds of Sils Maria" and 2016's "Personal Shopper".

The 1996 movie centered on a real-life actress, Maggie Cheung, playing a fictionalized version of herself, cast in a remake of the silent classic movie "Les Vampires", but the production is ruined by egos and squabbles.

Alicia Vikander is set to star in the series- not as herself, but as a fictional American movie star disillusioned by her career.

Vikander is also set to executive produce alongside Sylvie Barthet, Sam Levinson, Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen, Stuart Manashil, Ravi Nandan, and Hallie Sekoff. "Irma Vep" is also a co-production between HBO and A24.

"Irma Vep" does not have a release date.

Stewart was last seen in the royal drama movie, “Spencer“.

The actress portrays late royal Princess Diana Spencer while Jack Farthing plays Prince Charles. It also stars Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, Sean Harris, Olga Hellsing, Thomas Douglas, and others.

Pablo Larraín directed the movie from a screenplay written by the “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight.

“Spencer” follows a weekend in the early 1990s when Princess Diana (Stewart) decided to separate from Prince Charles amid rumors of affairs.

The late princess was spending the Christmas holiday with the royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk when she decides to end her tumultuous marriage with Prince Charles.

The movie is produced by Juan de Dios Larraín for Fabula Films, Jonas Dornbach and Janine Jackowski for Komplizen Film, and Paul Webster for Shoebox Films.
