The Korean Cultural Center in Egypt organized the Korean Culture Caravan at the Child Center for Civilization and Creativity (Child Museum) in Cairo, attracting a large audience of children and school students eager to explore the vibrant essence of Korean culture.
The event offered a dynamic and immersive experience, introducing participants to the traditional and modern aspects of Korea’s rich heritage. The day began with performances of “Gugak,” conventional Korean music that reflects the artistic and cultural spirit of the Korean people.
Throughout the event, children enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including screenings of the popular Korean animated series “Pororo” and trying on the traditional Korean attire, the “Hanbok.” A photo exhibition showcased Korea’s diverse weather and natural beauty, alongside a display of traditional Korean musical instruments.
One of the most exciting highlights was the virtual reality (VR) experience, where students explored Korea’s stunning landscapes and historic sites as if they were there in person. The event also featured traditional Korean games, creative art workshops, and storytelling sessions at the Korean Library Pavilion, allowing children to discover Korean tales and literature.
Oh Seong-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, expressed his delight in organizing the center’s first collaborative event with the Child Museum.
He highlighted the importance of such activities in fostering cultural awareness and announced that next year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and South Korea. He added that a series of cultural events will be held to strengthen the cultural exchange and deepen mutual understanding between the two countries.
Dr. Osama Abdel-Wareth, Director General of the Child Museum, praised the event, emphasizing the museum’s commitment to hosting cultural activities that promote dialogue and understanding between different nations.
