King Sejong Institute Cairo launches 2026 Sejong Culture Academy on K-Beauty at Ain Shams University

The King Sejong Institute Cairo, in cooperation with the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, has launched the 2026 King Sejong Institute Cairo Sejong Culture Academy. The three-day event, themed "K-Beauty Styling for My Daily Life," offers Egyptian students a hands-on exploration of Korean beauty culture and contemporary lifestyle.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the King Sejong Institute Foundation, the program provides high-quality cultural experiences to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen cultural ties between South Korea and Egypt.

Rather than serving as a standard makeup workshop, the academy introduces participants to the core values, lifestyle trends, and daily skincare practices that have made K-beauty a global phenomenon. Crucially, the curriculum teaches students how to adapt these famous Korean routines to Egypt's specific climate and daily environment.

The program is led by Ms. Choi Ji Woo, an expert cultural emissary, professional makeup artist, and adjunct professor in the Department of Beauty Styling at Yeonsung University.

The academy is exclusively open to students of King Sejong Institute Cairo and Ain Shams University. It features six specialized sessions hosting 20 participants each, welcoming approximately 120 students in total. By combining cultural theory with practical, hands-on learning, the event aims to foster meaningful people-to-people exchange between the two nations.

Through the 2026 Sejong Culture Academy, King Sejong Institute Cairo reaffirms its commitment to expanding cultural exchange, promoting intercultural understanding, and strengthening the enduring friendship between Korea and Egypt through educational and cultural initiatives that build lasting connections between the people of both nations.

Egypt hosts three branches of the King Sejong Institute (KSI): one at the Korean Cultural Center in Dokki, another at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, and a third at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University. Operating in partnership with the King Sejong Institute Foundation, these institutes provide internationally recognized Korean language education alongside diverse cultural programs, serving as key platforms for fostering Korean language learning and strengthening cultural ties between Korea and Egypt.
