Quentin Tarantino‘s “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” the four-hour cut (281 minutes with a 15-minute intermission) that combines “Kill Bill Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill Vol. 2″ into a single feature along with added footage, will be available soon for digital streaming.
The epic-length edition of the action classic had been vaulted for years until Lionsgate opened it in theaters on December 5, 2025, which marks its first-ever theatrical release.
The distribution plan also included speciality screenings in 35mm and 70mm — prints that were likely newly struck for this release. When “The Whole Bloody Affair” played the Tarantino-owned Vista Theater in Los Angeles as an eventized limited run last summer, the theater projected his personal print made for the cut’s Cannes premiere in 2006, which included French subtitles and all.
Showtimes also featured an intermission between the events of “Vol. 1” and “Vol. 2.”
“Kill Bill” was originally conceived and filmed as a single feature, but was split into two installments to accommodate its expansive runtime.
The parts were released six months apart, in October 2003 and April 2004, collectively grossing more than $330 million worldwide.
Tarantino later premiered “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” two years later at Cannes.
The edition wouldn’t screen again until 2011, when it played the director’s own New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. It was then vaulted again until the Vista run in July.
The official summary for film reads, “The film unites Volume 1 and Volume 2 into a single, unrated epic — presented exactly as Tarantino intended, complete with a new, never-before-seen anime sequence.
Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, left for dead after her former boss and lover Bill ambushes her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child. To exact her vengeance, she must first hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before confronting Bill himself.
“With its operatic scope, relentless action, and iconic style, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair stands as one of cinema’s definitive revenge sagas — rarely shown in its complete form, and now presented with a classic intermission.”
"Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" will be arriving on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, February 17.
Also starring Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks and David Carradine, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will be available to purchase or rent on PVOD on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV.
