Khaled El Nabawy's Ramadan 2023 Series Gets New Title

Famed Egyptian actor Khaled El Nabawy's upcoming TV series for Ramadan 2023 drama marathon has received a new title.

The series title “Imam Al-Shafi'i” was altered to "Resala Al-Imam". 

The series features the acclaimed actor playing the titular role of Imam Al-Shafi'i.

Imam Al-Shafi’ee, also known as Shaykh Al Islam, is one of the four great Imams of Sunni schools of law. He is also the author of several prominent works in the field. He has been titled ‘Nasir al-Hadith’ which means “defender of hadith”.

The cast also features Nidal El Shafei, Arwa Gouda, Salma Abu Deif, Mohamed El Sharnouby, Khaled Anwar, and others.

The series is scripted by a writing workshop under the supervision of Mohamed Hisham Obeya, directed by the Syrian Laith Hijo, and produced by the Media Hub production company.

“Imam Al-Shafi'i is set to screen during the Ramadan 2023 drama marathon.

This is not El Nabawy's first time taking part in a historical project. He starred in several TV productions such as “Mamalik Al Nar” (2019), “Wahet El Ghoroub” (2017), "Hadith Alsabah wa Almasaa" (2001), and "Bawabat Al Halawani" (1992).

He also appeared in the films "Kingdom of Heaven" (2005), “Al Maseer” (1997), and “Al Mohager” (1994).

El Nabawy participated last Ramadan with the TV series “Rageen Ya Hawa“, which achieved great success during premiere time.

It also starred Anoushka, Wafaa Amer, Islam Ibrahim, Nour, Salma Abu Deif, Hana Shiha, and others.

The series is based on a radio series by the late scriptwriter Osama Anwar Okasha.

Director Mohamed Salama helmed the series from a screenplay adapted by writer Mohammed Suleiman Abdel Malik.

El Nabawy, born on September 12, 1966, graduated from the Institute for Theatrical Arts where he performed in several theatrical productions, including “Al Bahr Beyidhak Leih”, “Al Ginzeer”, and “Kefah Teeba”.

El Nabawy was introduced to the cinema by renowned director, Youssef Chahine in his 1994’s film “Al Mohager”.

He acted in small roles before landing major roles in Chahine's films “Al Mohager”, “Zaman Al Hilm Al Daea”, “Al Hilm Al Moajal”, and “Al Maseer”, which is followed by his success in the short film “Al Qahira Menawara Be Ahlaha”.
