Khaled El Nabawy to Be Honored at 14th Luxor African Film Festival

Famed Egyptian actor Khaled El Nabawy will be honored at the 14th Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF), slated to run from January 9-14.

The acclaimed actor will be feted for his artistic achievements and long career in the world of cinema and art.

Founded in 2019, the Luxor African Film Festival, is one of the region's most prominent film festivals.

The festival represents a return and celebration of the African identity through the seventh art, the screen that takes the public to reality as it takes them to dreams as well as shares human concerns and cooperate in realizing of their dreams.

El Nabawy, born on September 12, 1966, graduated from the Institute for Theatrical Arts where he performed in several theatrical productions, including “Al Bahr Beyidhak Leih”, “Al Ginzeer”, and “Kefah Teeba”.

El Nabawy was introduced to the cinema by renowned director, Youssef Chahine in his 1994’s film “Al Mohager”.

He acted in small roles before landing major roles in Chahine's films “Al Mohager”, “Zaman Al Hilm Al Daea”, “Al Hilm Al Moajal”, and “Al Maseer”, which is followed by his success in the short film “Al Qahira Menawara Be Ahlaha”.
