The first photos from Egyptian stars Khaled El Nabawy and Yosra El Lozy's upcoming TV series “Mirage” or (“Al Sarab” in Arabic) have been released.
The cast also includes Hany Adel, Ahmed Wafik, Ahmed Magdy, Injy El Mokkadem, Naglaa Badr, Diamand Abou Abboud, Gihan El Shamashergy, Mohamed Kelany, and more. Ahmed Khaled directs the series from a script by Hisham Hilal.
"Al Sarab" is the Arabic adaptation of the “Seven Types of Ambiguity,” the Australian TV series involving a mystery told from the shifting perspective of seven characters.
The remake is being developed as an original production for beIN Media Group’s TOD streaming platform.
"Al Sarab" is the first international remake of the six-part ABC series, which is based on the acclaimed novel by Australian author Elliot Perlman.
It revolves around the disappearance of a child in suburban Melbourne — is being transposed to a Middle East setting, which just like the original will see each episode of the ten-part Rashomon-like show told from a different point of view.
"Al Sarab" witnesses the second collaboration between El Nabawy and El Lozy. They worked together for the first time in the 2013 radio series "Ma Khales Shokry".
Principal photography is currently underway and is scheduled to debut in September 2024 on the TOD SVOD platform which since its launch in March 2022 has been steadily gaining ground due to its mix of premium sports and entertainment content.
