Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anany had an encounter, on Monday, with South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Hong jin-Wook.

In addition to Al-Anany, Hong was accompanied by his delegation and Minister Plenipotentiary Dalia Abdel Fattah at the Ministry's headquarters in Zamalek.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance means of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism and antiquities. They also discussed organizing joint programs to encourage the tourism movement from Korea to Egypt.

Moreover, they tackled the possibility of benefiting from Korean expertise in the field of technology, as well as working on implementing a number of projects in order to boost the efficiency of services provided to visitors, whether Egyptians or foreigners.

This cooperation comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy for digital transformation, in addition to discussing the organization of a temporary exhibition of Egyptian antiquities in Korea, particularly in light of the Korean people’s interest in the ancient civilization, as well as journey of the Holy Family in Egypt and St. Catherine.

During the past few days, a delegation from the Korean Cultural Heritage Administration visited Egypt to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the field of archaeological work.
