Kenyan President Visits Giza Pyramids

This morning, President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta paid a visit to Giza Pyramids on the sidelines of his current visit to Egypt.

The Kenyan president was accompanied by Director General of the Pyramid Antiquities Region Ashraf Mohiuddin in his tour inside the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx and the panorama area, where they took memorial photos

Mohiuddin said that the President of Kenya expressed his deep fascination with the pyramids and their geometric construction.

He added that the president expressed admiration for Egyptian civilization and industrial development.

On his part, Kenyatta stated that the modern achievements of the Egyptian state are an extension of this great civilization.

On Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Kenyan counterpart in Cairo to discuss issues of common interests and the latest regional developments, according to a statement by the presidency.

During the meeting, President Sisi assured that the water issue is of "the utmost significance" to the Egyptian people given that it is a matter of national security, the statement said.

The two leaders agreed to intensify coordination between the two countries in the upcoming period concerning this "critical and vital issue," it added.

During the meeting with Kenyatta, Sisi voiced his appreciation for the deep-rooted relations, bilateral cooperation and unified vision between the two countries, affirming Egypt's insistence to boost ties and cooperation with Kenya in various fields.

He also congratulated Kenyatta on his country's election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council in 2021-2022, expressing his confidence that Nairobi will be a good representative for Africa at the UN.
