American singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have revealed that they are in a relationship, after Perry posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram account showing the two together in a friendly atmosphere during her tour in Japan.
The photos taken in Tokyo showed clear chemistry between the pair.

In one shot, they posed “cheek-to-cheek” in a casual outdoor selfie, while another video showed Trudeau exchanging warm looks with Perry as they shared a meal.
The two also appeared together inside an interactive art exhibition in the Japanese capital, in scenes that reflected a sense of emotional closeness.
Perry captioned her photos with a brief comment: “Tokyo times on tour and beyond.”
Trudeau’s presence in Japan was not a coincidence; his official visit to meet former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida happened to coincide with Perry’s stay in the country for her concert performances.
Kishida posted a photo of himself with both Trudeau and Perry next to a Christmas tree, describing Katy as Trudeau’s “partner” during the visit.
Trudeau reposted Kishida’s tweet, expressing his pleasure at meeting Kishida and his wife, and thanking them for their friendship and shared commitment to defending international values.
The relationship between Perry and Trudeau did not begin suddenly in Tokyo. Rumors had started last summer when the two were spotted on a date in Montreal.
At that time, Perry had ended her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom in June, while Trudeau was navigating life after separating from his wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023.
Sources close to the pair told People magazine that Trudeau showed clear interest in Perry from their first meeting, even traveling to California to visit her during a break in her tour.
Sources described a “natural chemistry” between them and mutual respect that strengthened their closeness.
Although they kept things private for a while, the first public confirmation of their relationship came on October 25, when they were seen holding hands as they left a show at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris, celebrating Perry’s birthday.
The photos taken at that time marked a turning point, as the couple appeared so in sync that there was no longer any doubt that the relationship had moved from rumor to undeniable reality.
