After giving “I’m His, He’s Mine” a live debut on the MTV Video Music Awards stage, Katy Perry dropped her new single "I’m His, He’s Mine", featuring Doechii.
The track marks the third single Perry has unveiled ahead of her new album "143", which is set to drop exactly one week after “I’m His, He’s Mine.”
It follows “Woman’s World” — which sparked criticism due to Dr. Luke’s involvement in the track — and “Lifetimes.”
Prior to its release, “I’m His, He’s Mine” soundtracked one of the most memorable moments of the 2024 VMAs, with Perry bringing out Doechii to perform a snippet of the track during the former’s Video Vanguard Award medley of hits.
After her performance, the former American Idol judge accepted the Vanguard Moon Person from her partner, Orlando Bloom, and thanked all of her supporters in a passionate speech.
“There are so many things that have to align to have a long and successful career as an artist,” she said. “There are no decade-long accidents.”
The “Roar” artist also shouted out her “KatyKats who’ve stood by me for a lifetime, who I recognize I would not be here without, and who show me that you can be both kind and c–t.”
