“Smash” star Katharine McPhee is set to star alongside “E.T.’s” Henry Thomas in the upcoming kidnapping feature “Three People in the Woods.”
Directed by Joshua Caldwell (“Mending the Line”), the film follows a grieving couple who kidnap the man they believe is responsible for the death of their teenage daughter to exact their revenge. However, after dragging him into the woods they find their resolve is tested and the couple soon begin to unravel.
Joining the cast are Jim Gaffigan (“The Jim Gaffigan Show”), Morgan Saylor (“Homeland”) and Forrest Weber (“Black Rabbit”). Nick Scandura has written the screenplay for the film, which has just wrapped in Georgia.
“‘Three People in the Woods’ is a story about grief, moral certainty, and the consequences of the choices we make when the world feels unrecognizable,” said Caldwell. “I’m thrilled to be working with this incredible cast to bring this tense, emotional journey to the screen.”
Jordan Dykstra of Universal Exports Media is representing global sales at the European Film Market.
Jordan Yale Levine, Sabine Stener, and Randy Kleinman produce for Visor Entertainment. Scott Levenson and Caldwell also produce. Co-producers are Lila Keltz for Visor Entertainment, Mike Donovan and Workhorse Cinema’s Alex Kane.
