Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz is preparing for a new TV series, which he plans to participate in during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.
The series features Abdel Aziz embodying a man from Upper Egypt for the first time.
It witnesses the "Blue Elephant" star's comeback to the drama marathon after opting to skip this season. He made his last participation in the marathon with the 2024 TV series "Al-Hashashin".
The drama also reunites Abdel Aziz with the "Al-Hashashin" scriptwriter Abdel Rahim Kamal and director Peter Mimi.
The series takes place in the 11th century and sees the actor playing Hassan Al-Sabbah, the founder of Al-Hashashin.
Al-Hashashin was a sect of assassins that operated between 1090 and 1275 CE.
During that time, they lived in the mountains of Persia and Syria and the covert murder of leaders who were considered enemies of the Nizārī Ismāʿīlī State.
"Al-Hashashin" boasts a cast that also includes Fathy Abdel Wahab, Myrna Noureldin, Ahmed Eid, Eslam Gamal, Nicolas Mouawad, Yasser Ali Maher, Nour Ehab, Omar El Shenawy, Suzan Najm Aldeen, and more.
