Egyptian star Karim Abdel Aziz is reteaming up with celebrated filmmaker Marwan Hamed and author Ahmed Mourad for a new big-budget film.
The film, titled "Al Faroon Al Akheer" (The Last Pharaoh) recreates ancient Egyptian history with a cinematic portrayal of the Boy King Tutankhamun.
It will be split between the life of King Tutankhamun in the 14th century BCE and the 20th century CE, with Karim Abdel Aziz portraying a character in the more modern era.
The film will involve serious historical work and feature a star-studded cast and crew of Egyptian and international talents, which have yet to be announced.
The film is jointly produced by Media Hub and United Media and will witness the fourth collaboration between Abdel Aziz and Hamed after 2014's "The Blue Elephant" and its 2019 sequel and 2022's "Kira We El Gin".
Principal photography is to begin in 2025.
