Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams approved Monday the request of American rapper Kanye West to officially shorten his name to Ye.

The musician has been using the name as his Twitter handle for years and had petitioned a court in August to make it his full name with no middle name or last name.

The name also was the title of the singer's 2018 album. He shared during a radio interview at that time his belief about the word to be the most commonly used word in the Bible, which means "you".

The musician recently released his 10th studio album, "Donda," named after his late mother Donda West.

He and his wife reality TV star Kim Kardashian West are in the process of getting porced, though they remain friendly and have been spotted together recently in public.

In 2014, The pair got married in an over-the-top ceremony in Italy and have four children together, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
