The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a rise in temperatures across most parts of the country on Saturday, with hot and humid conditions dominating nationwide and extremely hot weather expected over Upper Egypt.

Warm and humid weather will prevail during the early morning hours, while hot and humid conditions are expected across most regions throughout the day.

The northwestern coasts will experience relatively hot weather, while mild to warm and humid conditions will continue during the night.

The EMA noted that high humidity levels will make temperatures feel significantly higher than the recorded values, with the "feels like" temperature reaching 41°C in Greater Cairo and 44°C in South Upper Egypt.

There is a slight chance of low clouds developing over parts of the northeastern coasts, southern Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and the Canal Cities, which may produce light, non-impactful drizzle in isolated areas.

Light morning mist is expected between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. over northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

The authority also forecasts a slight chance of light to occasionally moderate rain, with a probability of around 20%, over parts of the northwestern coasts and northern Nile Delta at intermittent intervals.

Intermittent winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 35 km/h are expected across most parts of the country, helping to moderate temperatures during the evening hours.

However, the EMA warned that winds may occasionally stir sand and dust over northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, North Upper Egypt, and parts of the Western Desert.

Active winds are also expected along the beaches of El Salloum, Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Port Said, Damietta, and El Arish, causing wave heights to range between 1.5 and 2.5 metres.

The expected maximum and "feels like" temperatures are as follows:

Greater Cairo: 39°C (feels like 41°C)

Nile Delta: 38°C (feels like 40°C)

Northwestern Coast: 32°C (feels like 35°C)

Northeastern Coast: 36°C (feels like 39°C)

North Upper Egypt: 41°C (feels like 43°C)

South Upper Egypt: 43°C (feels like 44°C)
