Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been tapped to direct an untitled AI thriller for T-Street Productions, the production company of Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman, with Anne Hathaway to star.
No word on plot details yet, but sources revealed Gordon-Levitt is directing the pic from a script he co-wrote with Kieran Fitzgerald.
Gordon-Levitt and Fitzgerald previously collaborated on the 2016 Oliver Stone movie "Snowden". Both share ‘story by’ credit with Natasha Lyonne, the star of Johnson’s hit human-lie-detector series "Poker Face" for Peacock.
The project is the latest in a long line of collaborations for Gordon-Levitt, Johnson, and T-Street.
Gordon-Levitt and Johnson’s friendship and creative partnership dates back to the 2005 "Brick", a high school neo-noir starring Gordon-Levitt, which is now a cult classic.
Gordon-Levitt went on to star as a younger version of Bruce Willis in Johnson’s sci-fi actioner "Looper", later guest starring on "Poker Face".
T-Street’s Bergman produced Gordon-Levitt’s 2013 feature directorial debut, "Don Jon", with Johnson also giving feedback on the script and reviewing multiple cuts of the film.
The project also reunites Gordon-Levitt and Hathaway for the second time.
They previously collaborated on 2012’s "The Dark Knight Rises" for director Christopher Nolan.
