Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are Engaged

Embattled actor Jonathan Majors has gotten engaged to fellow actress Meagan Good.

The couple, who have been dating since May 2023, announced the news at the EBONY Power 100 Gala at NYA Studios West in Los Angeles.

“We’re feeling great,” Good told PEOPLE while showing off her sparkling engagement ring to the camera.

“It’s a season of joy,” Majors added with a smile. “It’s a season of all the good things,” Good continued with Majors saying, “Amen.”

Majors, 35, and Good, 43, were first linked in May 2023 after they were spotted watching a movie together in Los Angeles. In July, Good, who finalized her divorce from pastor DeVon Franklin in June 2022, told PEOPLE that the couple had “instant chemistry” when they met.

She was a constant presence as a supporter of Majors at the New York trial where he was found guilty in December of misdemeanor assault against his ex-partner.

Majors was ordered to complete one year of a counseling program but avoided jail time due to his lack of a previous criminal record.

While Majors and his attorneys have maintained his innocence, he was dropped from future projects by Marvel, where he was supposed to play a central role in its next phase of films as villain Kang the Conqueror.

He had already appeared in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and the first two seasons of the Disney+ series “Loki.” Majors also appears in the forthcoming “Magazine Dreams,” for which he has won acclaim for playing an aspiring bodybuilder.

It was dropped by its distributor last year but was recently picked up by another and is set for release early in 2025.

Earlier this year, Good told the outlet that Majors "actually tried to encourage me not to be with him" during the trial.

"He wanted to protect me," she said. "I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo. And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one.”
