Johnny Depp may reprise as beloved Captain Jack Sparrow for Disney's sixth installment of the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” franchise.
We Got This Covered revealed that Disney executive has been 'lobbying' for Depp's return.
It has been rumored back in 2016 that Disney had attempted to detach itself from the 56-year-old actor after his former wife Amber Heard made abuse allegations public.
At that time, pictures have surfaced of a bruised Heard, in which she claimed to be inflicted by Depp throwing his phone at her, allegations which he denied.
“The recent turn of events in Depp’s legal battle and the overwhelming support from the public in his favor has some of the Mouse House executives now lobbying for his return behind the scenes,” the news outlet reported.
Depp fans had created early February a petition on Change.org for his reprise role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the sixth part, after the leak of tape.
The actor was not included in the reboot because of his “personal issues”— meaning the abused allegations made his ex.
It is worth meaning that Depp and his ex-wife has been engaged in battle courts since 2016. Depp filed in March 2019 a $50 million lawsuit against Heard, alleging that her abuse allegations were false and saying they had cost him money and career opportunities.
Heard, in turn, accused her ex-husband by abusing drugs and alcohol, roughing her up and screaming at her, along with other claims of abuse, which she allegedly suffered throughout their 15-month marriage and four-year relationship.
New abuse allegations have emerged supported by a verified recording of Heard admitting to having hit Depp.
The newly released audio seems to authenticate Depp’s claims of being in an abusive marriage with Heard.
The recording was of a discussion between the pair as they had a fight that got physical.
The actress had also called him a “baby” in the audio for saying he was punched when she was just slapping him.
“Babe, you’re not punched,” Heard tells Depp. “I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you’re fine. I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you.”
Depp tells her at another point in the discussion, “I do not want to leave you, I do not want a porce, I do not want you out of my life. I just want peace. If things get physical, we have to separate.”
“I can’t promise you I won’t get physical again,” she says on the tape, according to USA Today. “God, I (expletive) sometimes get so mad I lose it. I can (expletive) promise you I can do everything to change.” Heard replied.
Heard and Depp married in 2015 with both stars signing an NDAs barring them from discussing their relationship publicly.
Heard filed for porce on May 23, 2016, and obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Depp, accusing him of abusing her, claims in which Depp had denied.
The former couple settled their porce out of court in August 2016 for $7 million, which she donated to charity.
Depp sought to porce Heard in 2016 after an incident, after finding feces in his bed.
He revealed that Heard admitted to their estate manager that the feces was “just a harmless prank.’”
