Lionsgate executive Joe Drake has unveiled a potential release window for the upcoming John Wick spinoff movie "Ballerina", starring Ana de Armas.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Drake revealed that the studio is planning to release the female-centric spinoff in either the spring or summer of 2024.

Len Wiseman directed the movie from a script by Oscar-winner Emerald Fennell.

"Ballerina" stars de Armas as Rooney, a dancer-turned-assassin for the ruthless Ruska Roma crime family who seeks revenge against those who murdered her family.

Franchise star Keanu Reeves previously revealed that the spinoff will be set between the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" and the latest installment.

Reeves, the late Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, and Ian McShane are all expected to make cameos in the movie.

The first spinoff movie began filming last November 2022 in Prague.

The spinoff was inspired by a scene from 2019’s Parabellum, where the audience was introduced to the Ruska Roma syndicate, the organization that trained young boys and girls into becoming lethal assassins.

Rooney went through grueling and rigorous training at an early age, under the supervision of Angelica Huston’s The Director.

Lionsgate is also currently working on the  John Wick prequel series, "The Continental".

The 3-part drama is set in 1970s New York City and will follow the origins of The Continental New York’s manager Winston and loyal concierge Charon, who are portrayed by Colin Woodell and Ayomide Adegun.

The series will chronicle how a young Winston Scott managed to establish a safe haven for assassins.

The cast will also feature Mel Gibson as Cormac and Katie McGrath as The Adjudicator.

"The Continental" is set for a September release on Peacock.
