American actor and musician Jeremy Renner is all set to start shooting season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown", a year after his near-fatal snow plow accident.

The Marvel actor appeared to signal his imminent return by sharing an Instagram Story from actress Emma Laird, one of his costars on the Paramount+ crime show. The Story featured a photo of Laird with Renner.

"It's happening," Laird wrote. "Back with my favourite [sic] guy next week."

On Mayor of Kingstown, Renner plays Mike McLusky, who acts as a liaison between criminals, prison guards, and police in the eponymous, fictional Michigan town.

Renner was hospitalized for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries at the start of January after his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, ran him over.

He was trying to help his nephew out of the snow near his home in Lake Tahoe when the Sno-Cat crushed him. His injuries included eight ribs broken in 14 places, a right knee and ankle broken, a left leg tibia broken, a left ankle broken, a right clavicle broken, a right shoulder broken, and more.

The Marvel actor was discharged after two weeks and revealed on social media that he had broken more than 30 bones.

In an interview with CNN in October, Renner opened up about how the accident had affected his life.

"I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life," he said. "I'm very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There's no fat in my life anymore. I don't have time for that. So there's something really beautiful about having that superpower."

Paramount+ announced that "Mayor of Kingstown" had been renewed for a third season in September. The series was created by Hugh Dillon and Yellowstone executive producer Taylor Sheridan.
