Jensen Ackles Joins Western Movie "Rust"

American actor, Jensen Ackles has recently joined the cast of the Western movie "Rust".

It also stars Alec Baldwin, Travis Fimmel, Brady Noon, Frances Fisher, and others.

The movie is written and directed by Joel Souza and based on a story by Souza and Baldwin.

The plot is focused on the kidnapping of Lucas (Noon), the estranged 13-year-old grandson of Harland Rust (Baldwin), an infamous western outlaw that has been evading bounty hunters and the law for years.

It also highlights the conviction of Lucas who is sentenced to be hanged for a murder he didn’t mean to commit and the journey of Rust to Kansas to bust him out of the penitentiary.

The duo pair up to evade the clutches of U.S. Marshal Wood Helm and a bounty hunter named Fenton “Preacher” Lang (Fimmel).

CAA Media Finance handling domestic sales for the movie while the Highland Film Group is repping international.

Baldwin is also slated to produce under his El Dorado Pictures production company.

Among its producers are Matt DelPiano through his Cavalry Media production company, Ryan Donnell Smith through Thomasville Pictures, and Anjul Nigam of Brittany House Pictures as well as Ryan Winterstern and Nathan Klingher of Short Porch Pictures.

Allen Cheney, Emily Hunter Salveson, Christopher M.B. Sharp, and Jennifer E. Lamb will serve as executive producers.

BondIt Media Capital and Hunter Salveson and Donnell Smith’s Streamline Global are on board for financing.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of the news that Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy in the third season of the hit series "The Boys".
