Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the official trailer for its biographical wrestling drama “Unstoppable,” starring Jharrel Jerome and Jennifer Lopez.
“Unstoppable” tells the true story of Anthony Robles (Jerome) who was born with one leg but whose indomitable spirit and unbreakable resolve empowered him to defy the odds and pursue his dreams. With the unwavering love and support of his devoted mother Judy (Lopez), and the encouragement of his coaches, Anthony fights through adversity to earn a spot on the Arizona State Wrestling team. Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Don Cheadle also star.
The movie marks Oscar-winning “Argo” editor William Goldenberg’s directorial debut.
He also scored Academy Award nominations for his work editing “The Imitation Game,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Seabiscuit”, and “The Insider.”
Eric Champnella, Alex Harris and John Hindman penned the script, which was based on Robles’ book with Austin Murphy, “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion.”
Robles himself is seen in the film and credited as “Anthony Robles Double,” performing wrestling moves and stunts.
He is also a producer on the film, which employed accessibility coordinators from IndieVisible to ensure a safe working environment, including productivity tools for all cast and crew.
“Unstoppable” is produced by Artists Equity, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company.
Affleck, Robles, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Andrew Fraser, Gary Lewis and David Crockett serve as producers.
“Unstoppable” will screen in select theaters on December 6, before coming to Prime Video on January 16, 2025.
