Jennifer Aniston is remembering her friend and co-star Matthew Perry on the first anniversary of his passing.
“1 year ❤️🩹🕊️,” the actress, 55, captioned an Instagram carousel on Monday before tagging the Matthew Perry Foundation.
The Matthew Perry Foundation was founded by Perry’s family with the aim of helping others who are struggling with addiction.
The slideshow began with a black-and-white photo of the pair making silly faces, followed by a still from the sitcom showing Perry’s character, Chandler Bing, kissing Aniston’s character, Rachel Green, on the forehead.
The post concluded with a group shot featuring Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Courteney Cox, as well as a solo smiling shot of Perry.
The official Instagram for “Friends” also released a statement Monday, which read, “On the one year anniversary of his passing, we honor Matthew Perry whose legacy lives on through the work of the Matthew Perry Foundation.”
The post also encouraged fans to share their “favorite moment of [Perry’s] from the show” and to “stream #FRIENDS on Max to experience the incredible love and laughter he brought to us all.”

On Monday, Cox, 60 — who played the role of Monica Geller on the show — also paid tribute on the year anniversary of her friend's death anniversary.
In the first snap, Perry smiled at Cox on what appeared to be a red carpet. The following photo then featured a shot of Perry and Cox posing alongside their fellow Friends cast members Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow.
“Missing you today and always ❤️@matthewperryfoundation,” Cox captioned.

Perry died at age 54 at his Los Angeles-area home on October 28, 2023, in an apparent drowning, that was later revealed to be influenced by the acute effects of ketamine, according to an autopsy report. He was laid to rest on November 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in L.A. in a private service attended by his costars.
When Perry died, his “devastated” fellow cast members released a joint statement. “We were more than just castmates,” they wrote at the time. “We are a family. We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family,".
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the group continued. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
