Jenna Ortega is in talks to join Glen Powell in J.J. Abrams’ secret untitled movie at Warner Bros.
Few details are known about the movie, other than it’s written by Abrams and will be produced by his Bad Robot, which has an overall deal with the studio.
Ortega and Powell were recently flagged as being a part of the “New A-List” after surveying studio execs and producers about the most in-demand stars. They are seen by the industry as box office draws, able to bring younger moviegoers into theaters.
Powell is currently in theaters with "Twisters", which has grossed more than $270 million at the global box office. He is set to star in the "Running Man" remake from Edgar Wright.
Ortega will soon star in the Warner Bros. Beetlejuice sequel and soon be seen in the second season of Tim Burton’s Netflix series "Wednesday", which the streamer says is its most-watched English language television series of all time.
Down the road for the "Scream" star is the Sony/3000 Pictures’ "Klara and the Sun" from Taika Waititi, about a robot girl who is designed to prevent loneliness and tries to save a heartbroken family of humans. Amy Adams and Natasha Lyonne also star.
Ortega also has the A24 feature "Death of a Unicorn" from filmmaker Alex Scharfman and starring Paul Rudd and Will Poulter. Pic follows a father-daughter duo who hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO.
