Cairo University president Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht received on Thursday Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)'s Egypt Office Chief Representative Yoshifumi Omura, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in education and research fields.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ali Abdel Rahman, former Cairo University President, Dr. Hala Salah, Medicine Faculty Dean, and Dr. Rasha Ammar, Director of Japanese-donated Abu El Reesh hospital.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Elkhosht expressed his happiness to cooperate with JICA in all fields without any restrictions, noting that collaboration between Cairo University and JICA has witnessed a notable boom in medicine and nursing fields, like; the outpatient clinics at Abu El Reesh hospital.
“The building permit was obtained and the project was completed on time,” he noted.
On his part, Omura expressed the entity’s keenness to cooperate with Cairo University in the environment, renewable energy, biological resources, nursing, hospitals' management fields.
Moreover, they discussed cooperation in the provision of scholarships for Egyptian university, and postgraduates students in various disciplines to study in Japan through several fully-funded programs.
