The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) welcomed Mr. Matsumoto Yohei, the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, and their respective delegations. The visit comes as part of the Japanese Minister’s current official state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The delegation was received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, who welcomed the guests and led them on a comprehensive tour of the landmark institution.

Highlights of the Tour

The visit included several of the museum’s most iconic spaces:

* The Outer Plaza and Great Atrium: Featuring the colossal statue of King Ramses II.

* The Grand Staircase: Leading to the main exhibition galleries that chronicle ancient Egyptian history from the Early Dynastic Period to the Greco-Roman era.

* The Tutankhamun Galleries: Which display the Golden King’s entire collection in a single location for the first time.

* The Khufu Boat Museum: Where the tour concluded, showcasing the world’s oldest intact wooden vessels.

At the conclusion of the tour, Minister Matsumoto and his delegation expressed their profound admiration for the museum. They praised the extraordinary artifacts and the innovative museum display scenario, noting that the exhibition's execution perfectly mirrors the grandeur and global significance of ancient Egyptian civilization.
