Japanese Foreign Minister (FM) Yoshimasa Hayashi and his accompanying delegation visited Giza Pyramids on Wednesday, in the presence of the Ambassador of Japan to Cairo.
This came on the sidelines of Japanese Foreign Minister's official visit to Egypt.
They were received by Mr. Ashraf Mahdi, Director General of Pyramids Antiquities, who took them on a tour of the archaeological area, during which he explained the history of the area and the most important existing antiquities.
The tour included a visit to Great Pyramid from the outside and the first corridor inside, where the Japanese FM listened to a historical overview of the Great Pyramid, how it was built, and the stones that were used in its construction.
On his part, Japanese FM expressed his amazement at the size of the pyramid, the ingenuity of its construction, and his happiness at visiting the pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the only one remaining to this day.
The Japanese minister and his accompanying delegation were also keen to take a number of photos in front of the Great Pyramid.
