Jannat

Jannat Mahid, known by her stage name as Jannat, was born on January 6, 1986, in Morocco. She is considered one of the most talented female singers in the Middle East.

The Egypt-resident performer's talent was discovered early when she attracted the attention of her parents at the age of 5, as she sang Umm Kulthum and Mohammed Abdel Wahab songs.

She was helped by her family, namely her mother who is a retired singer, and launched her singing career.

Jannat began appearing on stage by the age of 8 when she participated in and won a national Moroccan music competition. Later she took part in a TV broadcast “Noujoum Al Ghad” (Stars Of Tomorrow, 2M TV).

She decided to travel to the Middle East in an attempt to pursue her stardom, following her success in the competition show.

In 2000, Jannat won first place (Best Arabic Voice) in “Layali Dubai”, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

She was noticed by Ratiba El-Hefny, who invited her to sing as an honored guest at the Cairo Congress of Arab Music.

Jannat then found herself on the stage of Cairo Opera House performing alongside Majida El Roumi, Wadih El Safi, and Sabah Fakhri.

She went on a hiatus in artistic activity until she took a certificate in Business and International Marketing.

In 2004, Jannat released her first song “Efhamny Habiby”, which was presented as a music video.

At that time producer, Ahmed Desouki was seeking new voices. He liked Jannat’s voice and signed a contract with her in 2005.

The singer released, the following year, her debut album, “Elli Beny W Benak”. The preparation of the album took a year and a half due to Desouki’s desire to achieve success with the album, which it did.
