Jamila Awad and Mohamed El Sharnouby Reteam for TV Series "Aflatouni"

Egyptian actress Jamila Awad and singer-actor Mohamed El Sharnouby have found their next collaboration in the TV series "Aflatouni".

The drama consists of 15 episodes and hails from filmmaker Sherif el Alfy.

"Aflatouni" marks Awad's first major TV role and witnesses the third collaboration between Awad and El Sharnouby.

They working together in the 2020 film "Banat Sanawy" and the 2017 TV series "La Tottfea AL shams".

"Aflatouni" is set to screen during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.

Awad made her last appearance on the small screen in the TV series "Lunch Box".

The cast also includes Ghada Adel, Ahmed Wafik, Fadwa Abed, rapper Shaheen, Sedky Sakhr, and more. It is scripted by Amr Medhat, directed by Hesham EL-Rashidy, and produced by S Productions.

"Lunch Box" consists of 30 episodes and debuted in the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon. It is based on the American crime comedy-drama TV series "Good Girls", which ran from 2018 to 2021 over four seasons.

"Good Girls" follows the lives of three suburban mothers who resort to robbing a supermarket and getting involved with a crime boss and the FBI.

It starred Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman as the main characters, with a supporting cast that includes Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard, and Matthew Lillard.

The series was executive-produced by Bans, Dean Parisot, and Jeannine Renshaw, for Universal Television. In June 2021, NBC announced that the show was canceled after four seasons.

Jamila Awad

Awad, born on April 6, 1991, is an Egyptian actress who was raised in an artistic home as her father is film director Adel Awad, her mother is actress Randa, and her grandfather is comedian Mohamed Awad.

She made her breakthrough playing Hania, a young drug addict, in the 2015 TV series “Taht El-saytara”.

The actress is best known for her roles in TV productions such as “La tutafiy alshams”(2017), “Ella Ana” (2020), and “Harb Ahlia” (2021).

She is also known for her roles in films “Hepta: El Mohadra El Akhyra” (2016), “Min Talatin Sana” (2016), “Laf We Dawaran” (2016), “Sabe Alboromba” (2019), “Al Def” (2019), “Banat Sanawy” (2020), and “Arousty” (2021).
