The psychological horror thriller "Speak No Evil", starring James McAvoy, will begin streaming on the Peacock platform on December 6.
“Speak No Evil" was premiered on September 13 and is the American remake of the 2022 Danish psychological horror thriller “Gaesterne”.
McAvoy plays a dad with a dark side in the remake about a Danish family visiting a Dutch family they met on a holiday. What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness.
Pic also stars Aisling Franciosi, Alix West Lefler, Dan Hough, and more.
Hailing from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, the remake drew quite positive reviews in its September release — no easy feat for an English-language remake of a recent, highly lauded international title — and grossed over $76 million worldwide.
It is based on the screenplay by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. James Watkins (The Woman in Black) will direct the project from his script.
Jason Blum will produce the remake for Blumhouse, with Paul Ritchie, Christian Tafdrup, Jacob Jarek, and Bea Sequeira serving as EPs.
“Speak No Evil” was shot in Gloucestershire, England, and Watkins joked that production was “just like summer camp… with a slight deviant edge.”
McAvoy and Blumhouse previously worked together on the combined half-billion-plus grossing hits, "Split" and "Glass".
