Scottish actor James McAvoy has been set for the thriller movie "Turn Up The Sun!", which has begun production in the UK under an Equity PACT agreement.

Lucas Bravo (Emily In Paris), Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale), and Almudena Amor (The Good Boss) will also star.

Written and directed by Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams, BAFTA-winner McAvoy leads the cast in the ensemble about two couples who accidentally book the same countryside mansion for a weekend of work and pleasure but discover things may not be as they seem.

Sales outfit The Syndicate is handling worldwide sales and will introduce the project at AFM. Shaun Sanghani is financing through his credit facility SSS Film Capital and will be producing through SSS Entertainment alongside Cara Shine Ballarini and Rebecca Miller and their Good Pals production shingle.

The trio produced the 2021 SXSW Grand Jury winner "The Fallout" starring Jenna Ortega, which was acquired by Warner Bros. This is their third feature together.

Split and The Last King Of Scotland star McAvoy will next be seen in Legendary’s The Book of Clarence before reuniting with Blumhouse and starring in the upcoming Speak No Evil.

He is set to make his feature directorial debut with an untitled music biopic about Californian rap duo, Silibil N’ Brains.

The movie depicts the true story of two Scottish lads from Dundee who conned the international music industry by adopting American accents and pretending to establish the Silibil N’ Brains.

In the late 90’s, Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd had their musical ambitions consistently ridiculed for having the ‘wrong’ accents so they went for broke and reinvented themselves as Californian rappers.

The untitled movie will show how the duo re-recorded their own tracks with fake accents and turned up in London claiming to be an established duo on the Cali scene as well as childhood friends with Eminem.

They quickly bagged themselves a record deal, a hefty sum in advances, and an appearance on MTV…until it all came crashing down.
