Ivory Coast Announces Final Squad for 2019 AFCON

Twelve- days before the 2019 African Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast head coach Ibrahim Kamara announced on Sunday his 23-man squad for the upcoming tournament, which is set to take place in Egypt.

The Elephants, who were picked in group D alongside Morocco, South Africa, and Namibia, will play their first match against South Africa at Al Salam Stadium at 16:30 pm (CLT).

Two- time title holders seek to the third title since the West Africans won their second trophy in 2015.

Ivory Coast 23 - man final squad is as follows:

Coach: Ibrahim Kamara.

Goalkeepers: Sylvain Gbohouo (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), Tape Ira (FC San Pedro) and Ali Badra (Free State Stars, South Africa).

Defenders: Serge Aurier (Tottenham Hotspur, England), Mamadou Bagayoko (Red Star, France), Wonlo Coulibaly (Asec Mimosas), Ismael Traore (Angers, France), Wilfried Kanon (ADO Den Haag, Netherlands), Simon Deli (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic), Cheikh Comara (Wydad Casablanca, Morocco).

Midfielders: Jean-Philippe Gbamin (Mainz, Germany), Serey Die (Neuchâtel Xamax, Switzerland), Jean-Michael Seri (Fulham, England), Victorian Angban (Metz, France), Franck Kessie (AC Milan, Italy), Ibrahim Sangare (Toulouse, France).

Forwards: Max-Alain Gradel (Toulouse, France), Nicolas Pepe (Lille, France), Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, England), Jonathan Kodjia (Aston Villa, England), Roger Assale (Young Boys Bern, Switzerland), Maxwell Cornet (Lyon, France), Wilfried Bony (unattached).
