Stadiums Ready for AFCON ... SEE Explores

Seventeen- days before the 2019 African Cup of Nations, SEE explores details about the stadiums that are scheduled to host the tournament.

Egypt dedicated six stadiums to host this memorable event. The stadiums are as follows: Cairo, Air Defense, AL-Salam, Alexandria, Suez, and Ismailia.

Cairo Stadium

Cairo stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, in addition, Group A, which includes Egypt, Congo, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, will play its matches at this remarkable stadium. The International Stadium, with its official capacity of 73,200, was inaugurated in 1960.

How to get to the stadium:

It is located in the Nasr City suburb, so the easiest way to get to the stadium is to take a taxi, or you can take any bus heading to Nasr city. You can also take the underground from downtown Cairo.

Alexandria Stadium

Group B, which includes Nigeria, Guinea, Madagascar, and Burundi, will play its matches at Alexandria Stadium. It is the oldest stadium in Egypt and Africa. The historical stadium, with its official capacity of 20,000, was established in 1929.

How to get the stadium:

It is located in the district of Moharam Bek, so the simplest way to get to the stadium is to take a taxi, or you can catch any bus heading to Moharam Bek or you can take the tram.

Air Defense Stadium

Group (C), which includes Senegal, Algeria, Kenya, and Tanzania, will play its games at Air Defense Stadium.

The stadium, with its official capacity of 30,000, was opened in 2012.

How to get the stadium:

It is located in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, so the straightforward way to get to the stadium is to hire a taxi, or you can catch any bus heading to Fifth Settlement.

Al Salam Stadium

Al Salam Stadium hosts the matches of Group (D), which includes Morocco, Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Namibia. The Stadium, with its official capacity of 30,000, was inaugurated in 2009.

How to get the stadium:

It is located in Al Salam city, Cairo, so the easiest way to get to the stadium is to take a taxi.

Suez Stadium

Suez Stadium will host the matches of Group (E), which includes Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, and Angola. The stadium, with its capacity of 27,000 was inaugurated in 1990.

How to get the stadium:

It is located in Suez. If you are in Cairo, you will take a train heading to Suez from Ramses Station or take a bus heading to Suez. On the other hand, if you are in Suez, you can take a taxi or a bus heading to the stadium.

Ismailia Stadium

Group (F), which includes Cameroon, Ghana, Benin, and Guinea will play its matches at Ismailia Stadium. The stadium, with its capacity of 18,525, is located in the North East of the country.

How to get the stadium:

The easiest way to get to the stadium from Cairo is to take a train from Ramses Station heading to Ismailia, Governorate, while If you are in Ismailia you can take a taxi or a bus heading to the stadium.
