His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, inaugurated today the "Treasures of the Pharaohs" exhibition held at the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, a venue affiliated with the Italian Presidency. The inauguration was attended by Mr. Sherif Fathy, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Alessandro Giuli, the Italian Minister of Culture, Ambassador Bassam Rady, Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation, Dr. Tarek El Awady, Supervisor of the Exhibition, along with a number of Italian ministers, senior museum directors, and cultural figures.

The opening ceremony witnessed extensive media coverage from international and Italian news agencies, television channels, and newspapers, reflecting the scale of global interest in this unique exhibition and the high esteem in which ancient Egyptian civilization is held in the global cultural consciousness.

In his speech during the inauguration, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, expressed his deep gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Scuderie del Quirinale exhibition hall, under the supervision of Dr. Tarek El Awady. He affirmed that this exhibition represents the fruit of years of joint work between the two sides, noting that the selection of 130 artifacts from Egyptian collections was based not only on their beauty but also on their ability to embody the essence of ancient Egypt, a civilization where art, faith, and life were one entity.

He added that the exhibition "<>" as the statues, masks, and papyri were created to defy oblivion. Every piece carries an eternal message that existence can be immortalized through care, knowledge, and art.

He explained that displaying these treasures in Rome represents an act of cultural sharing and rapprochement, expressing his hope that visitors would feel what archaeologists feel every time they discover a three-thousand-year-old statue. This feeling, which transcends the limits of history, is what unites us today.

Following the opening ceremony, His Excellency the Italian President, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Italian Minister of Culture toured the various halls of the exhibition. During the tour, they listened to a detailed explanation from the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Dr. Christian Greco, Director of the Egyptian Museum in Turin, about the most important artifacts on display and the artistic and spiritual aspects they represent, which reflect the depth and eternal splendor of ancient Egyptian civilization.
