Italy’s award-winning “Black Widow” troupe, celebrated for earning the Golden Buzzer on Italia’s Got Talent, brought a burst of visual spectacle to the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair with their performance “Echoes of Swaying Arms.”
The all-female ensemble of 15 artists filled the stage with synchronized movements enhanced by silver-painted arms and soft lighting, creating shifting patterns that evoked petals, flames and waves. Schoolchildren in the audience reacted with awe as the performers blended choreography and illusion to craft a vivid, nature-inspired tableau.
Artistic director Lorenzo Benatoni said the group’s work merges movement and visual trickery. “Our style bridges drama, elegance and emotion, drawing inspiration from the elements,” he said.
Co-director Jessica DiMaria praised the fair’s atmosphere, noting, “Sharjah inspires creativity. The energy of the children was remarkable.”
